BOVI (CFRN)

Bovi Ugboma, widely known as Bovi, is a prominent Nigerian stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and producer, celebrated for his sharp wit and engaging storytelling.


Born on September 25, 1979, in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, he hails from a family with roots in Delta State.

Education

Bovi's educational journey began at UNIBEN Staff School in Benin City for his primary education. He attended several secondary schools, including Government College, Ughelli; Edokpolor Grammar School in Benin City; and Boys Model Secondary School in Onicha Olona. 

He later pursued higher education at Delta State University, Abraka, where he earned a degree in Theatre Arts in 2002.

Career

Bovi's career commenced in 2007 with his self-written and produced sitcom, "Extended Family," which garnered significant acclaim and established him as a creative force in Nigerian entertainment. 

Transitioning to stand-up comedy, he quickly became a sought-after performer, gracing stages at major events such as "Night of a Thousand Laughs," "Uncensored," and "Lord of the Ribs."

In 2013, Bovi launched his signature stand-up comedy special, "Man on Fire," debuting in Lagos to widespread acclaim. The success of this show led to international performances in cities like Toronto, London, and New York, solidifying his global appeal.

Expanding his repertoire, Bovi ventured into filmmaking with his debut movie, "It's Her Day," in 2016. The film received positive reviews and showcased his versatility as a storyteller. Additionally, he produced "The Bovi Ugboma Show (TBUS)," further cementing his status in the industry.

Personal Life

Bovi is married to Kris Asimonye Ugboma, and together they have three children. He is known for his philanthropic efforts and dedication to mentoring emerging talents in the Nigerian entertainment scene.
